What’s Pouring

Dark by 4 is our take on an English stout. Its roasted character is tempered with rich crystal malt and balanced hopping – all of which is enhanced by the nitro pour. Inspired by the long dark hours of Maine’s winter months.

Buck’s Best is named after the Buck family that runs Maine Malt House and provided the base malt for this brew. Their base malt, Mapleton Gold, is fashioned after classic English pale malts and gives this beer its characteristic color and malty bread-like flavors. Restrained hop use brings in pleasant herbal notes which blend well with subtle fruity esters from the English yeast.

Our juiciest hazy New England IPA. Bold, juicy, citrus flavor.

Hazy, but not too hazy. Smooth flavor with classic and new school hops.

Our session IPA, Simmer Down, is relaxing and crushable.

This Czech-style dark lager was developed by SBC brewer, Chris Kibler. He and his wife’s love for European lagers took them to Munich, Vienna, Prague, and Pilsen for their honeymoon. It was on their final two stops where the seeds of inspiration for this beer were planted.

Much like Kozel Černý, which has been brewed for 150 years just 15 miles southwest of Prague, Bohemian Nightfall lands on the lighter-colored, less roast-flavored end of the Czech dark lager spectrum. A complex ingredient list comprised of German and Maine malt, Saaz hops, and German lager yeast was used to bring this crispy boi to life. Grab a pint and whisk yourself away to Bohemia with flavors of dark malt sweetness, toffee, toasted bread, dark fruits, and hints of chocolate and nuttiness. Na zdraví!

Amber color, malty backbone, and grassy hop notes make it no other.

Our 2024 Barleywine is aged for 10 months in a selection of bourbon barrels from Widow Jane and Heaven Hills. It boasts bold flavors from the marriage of beer and barrels that are not for the faint of heart.

Streets of Rome is an Italian-style pilsner referencing the iconic “When I Paint my Masterpiece” Oh, the streets of Rome are filled with rubble Ancient footprints are everywhere. You can almost think that you’re seein’ double. On a cold, dark night on the Spanish stairs. Inspired by Head Brewer Rusty Packer’s time in the Trastevere neighborhood of Rome.

Celebrate is inspired by the classic strong IPA’s of the West Coast, particularly one that is released annually around the holidays. It’s notable for its simple but bold hop and malt character. SBC Brewer Alex Upton lead the charge on making this brewers’ favorite style.

Slick Nick is Sebago’s classic winter warmer. Full of rich smooth malt flavor, this insidious brew is best enjoyed during New England’s freezing winter months.

Stratisfied has qualities of West Coast IPA’s that we love, but with different hopping techniques, modern concentrated hop technology, and a newer hop variety). It’s boldly hopped at 3/lbs per barrel with Strata hops giving it the classic sticky hop kick in the mouthfeel with the tropical fruit, berry, and candied notes associated with newer hop varieties.

Low Key is calculated at around 115 calories per 12 oz. We used concentrated hops to make a flavorful aromatic beer that is quick and easy to drink without feeling like anything is missing.

Racking My Brain is the result of meticulous fermentation, blending and aging. Saddleback wort has been fermented with multiple strains of brett in wine barrels. After almost of year in the barrels, fresh raspberries from Goss Berry Farm (Mechanic Falls, ME) are added and the aging continued. Each gallon of beer has over 1# of fruit in it resulting in a dry, tart, refreshing fruit beer.

Juicy and sweet, tastes and smells just like farm fresh cider you drank as a kid.
