What’s Pouring

Racking My Brain is the result of meticulous fermentation, blending and aging. Saddleback wort has been fermented with multiple strains of brett in wine barrels. After almost of year in the barrels, fresh raspberries from Goss Berry Farm (Mechanic Falls, ME) are added and the aging continued. Each gallon of beer has over 1# of fruit in it resulting in a dry, tart, refreshing fruit beer.

Amber color, malty backbone, and grassy hop notes make it no other.

This bold West Coast IPA is highly hopped exclusively with Stata at 3 pounds per barrel. The wide range of aromas and flavors that Strata  contributes makes this single hop IPA full of character

Our session IPA, Simmer Down, is relaxing and crushable.

Our juiciest hazy New England IPA. Bold, juicy, citrus flavor.

This Czech-style dark lager was developed by SBC brewer, Chris Kibler. He and his wife’s love for European lagers took them to Munich, Vienna, Prague, and Pilsen for their honeymoon. It was on their final two stops where the seeds of inspiration for this beer were planted. Much like Kozel Černý, which has been brewed for 150 years just 15 miles southwest of Prague, Bohemian Nightfall lands on the lighter- colored, less roast-flavored end of the Czech dark lager spectrum. A complex ingredient list comprised of German and Maine malt, Saaz hops, and German lager yeast was used to bring this crispy boi to life. Grab a pint and whisk yourself away to Bohemia with flavors of dark malt sweetness, toffee, toasted bread, dark fruits, and hints of chocolate and nuttiness. Na zdraví!

Maine’s legendary IPA. Take the leap!

Buck’s Best is named after the Buck family that runs Maine Malt House and provided the base malt for this brew. Their base malt, Mapleton Gold, is fashioned after classic English pale malts and gives this beer its characteristic color and malty bread-like flavors. Restrained hop use brings in pleasant herbal notes which blend well with subtle fruity esters from the English yeast.

Low Key is calculated at around 115 calories per 12 oz. We used concentrated hops to make a flavorful aromatic beer that is quick and easy to drink without feeling like anything is missing.

Streets of Rome is an Italian-style pilsner referencing the iconic “When I Paint my Masterpiece”– Oh, the streets of Rome are filled with rubble Ancient footprints are everywhere You can almost think that you’re seein’ double On a cold, dark night on the Spanish stairs– Inspired by Head Brewer Rusty Packer’s time in the Trastevere neighborhood of Rome.

The recipe for Good Will Honey was created by SBC Brewers Alex and Rachel, inspired by Dundee’s famous Honey Brown Lager. This version is an ale and made with honey, classic English crystal malts, and American ale yeast. Named for Will on our brewery team who helped brew this batch.

Celebrate is inspired by the classic strong IPA’s of the West Coast, particularly one that is released annually around the holidays. It’s notable for its simple but bold hop and malt character. SBC Brewer Alex Upton lead the charge on making this brewers’ favorite style.

Flip Flops & Flannels was first brewed with a visiting friend from Sierra Nevada. This year’s batch is hopped Comet and Citra and uses a Norwegian farmhouse yeast that contributes to fruity esters by being fermented at close to 100°F, which is 30°F warmer than most our other beers.

Our 2024 Barleywine is aged for 10 months in a selection of bourbon barrels from Widow Jane and Heaven Hills. It boasts bold flavors from the marriage of beer and barrels that are not for the faint of heart.
